In loving memory: CH. Glen Oaks' Firedance o' Amethyst (Fire) -
March 14, 1995 to September 8, 2007

Oh dear sweet, Fire -

You left me way too soon.

I know that 12.5 years is a lifetime for a dog, but for the human(s) left behind, it's not nearly long enough. You were the epitome of what a dog should be. You were there for me for everything.

Rather than say more here, you can read the tribute to Fire on my web site.

The tears don't seem to stop and I miss you more than words can say.

This is about a 10-kleenex alert.....and music accompanies the memorial.

Hi Peggy,
So sorry for your loss. I read your website about your dog and wept. I'm still weeping as I am writing this. I too know the profound love of a pet and grief felt when they die. I lost my little boy cocker spaniel "Honey" on August 8, 2007. He was 16-1/2. My sister Kathie sent me a video about the Rainbow Bridge which was a tear jerker but also comforting. I had never heard about that before, but I'm sure you have since you have had many animal friends.

I found your blog thru your sister Ruth Ann's blog. Ruth Ann is a long time friend of my sister Kathie (aka Adventures in Homemaker Land blog).

Thanks for sharing about your dog it was a beautiful tribute.

Hi Sue -

Thanks so much for your kind note about my dog, Fire.

It is very ironic that one month after you lost Honey, I lost Fire. The Rainbow Bridge brings comfort to lots of animal lovers everywhere. Another great story is "The Best Place to Bury a Good Dog." You can see that on my sister, Mary's blog (Million Dollar Mary) when she lost her Lab, Joe.

I have known Kathie for a long time. She went to Ripon as did Ruth, Mary and I. Our brother Paul attended...but graduated from Marquette.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog. I honestly didn't think people went out there, except my family.

Peggy :)
