Autumnal Splendor!!

Wow!! Another glorious weekend looms large here in Wisconsin. With temperatures in the 60s, which is so rare for this time of year, I'm trying to follow the adage, "to make hay while the sun shines" with regard to end of the growing season, mowing season to get my yard and home looking nice.

Yesterday, I finished mowing, hopefully for the last time, except maybe a last go-around on the grass I mowed last weekend. I am just amazed at the splendor in nature and it just makes me realize how truly blessed I am to live where I do.
For the first time since I've been separated/divorced, I feel that the yard looks the way I want it to before we head into winter. The orchard trees have been trimmed back and the apples that dropped off have been raked up and hauled away to be out of the yard where the dogs have enjoyed eating them.... I even made the trek to Fleet Farm to purchase more t-posts for shoring up the front fence line here. The original span is too great and last year, two of my beloved show dogs, just walked out over the fence due to the snow amounts. In all the 25 years I've been here that's never happened. Anyway, after I was done mowing, I took the time to snap a couple photos of the yard and trees and the beauty that is autumn.
Flame is here visiting as Laurie and Alan had a funeral to attend, so I couldn't resist the photo op to show her here in her natural beauty surrounded by the sights of fall. Enjoy.

Peg, The pictures are great. Where is that lovely spreading tree? It's nice to see one of your little ones in picture. Take one with the face, please.

Hey Mom -

Thanks for the compliments. The spreading tree is my willow tree which is right behind the mound system. To think that it was planted as a seedling a long, long time ago.

That's Laurie's Flame. She turned on me while I was taking the shot!!

Thanks for stopping by.

Peggy :)
